Mildred’s life takes an unexpected turn when her estranged father, Strawn Wise, comes back into her world after years of absence. Strawn, once a famous magician, is now washed-up and struggling to find his place in life. He has been distant from Mildred for most of her childhood, and their reunion is awkward. Mildred, unsure about this man who is supposed to be her father, finds herself caught between curiosity and resentment. Strawn, aware of the distance between them, tries to find a way to reconnect.
